Where do I even begin with this weddimg photography workshop?
I'm incredibly selective with the content days, styled shoots, and workshops that i attend (or organise independently), but i can safely say that this day, hosted by Detaijer, was nothing short of incredible.
Now hear me out, I wholeheartedly believe that we should still hold a space for styled shoots in the wedding industry, provided that those sharing / marketing the images are transparent about the use of models. As a documentary wedding photographer, I use workshops as a source of inspiration, and an opportunity to test out new techniques or ideas that I perhaps wouldn't get chance to on a real wedding day. This particular workshop was held at the end of March 2024, so a month or so my wedding season began, and it got me so excited and ready to get the ball rolling with all of my 2024 weddings.
A little about the styling & vibe of this styled shoot... Think pastel tones, peaches, pinks and greens. Bright, summery, and joyful to gaze upon. Mix n match bridesamids dresses, luxe textures, dreamy veils, fashion-forward bridal gowns, bridesmaid baskets (!!!), and a dapper, black, velvet tuxedo. Not forgetting the vintage ferari, floating flower backdrop, champagne pop, bubble machine, and flash photography wedding exits. There truly is an abudance of beautiful wedding inspiration within this blog, so take a scroll and take it all in.
This was by far my favourite workshop I’ve ever attended - inspiring, collaborative, supportive, and educational. So a massive thank you to everyone involved, I will be back!
